Historic Pleasant Valley School (Fort Collins, Colorado)

Pleasant Valley School.

Colorado History Series: Pleasant Valley School (Fort Collins, Colorado).

The Pleasant Valley School, located near Fort Collins, Colorado, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 11, 2003, due to its architectural educational significance. The school was originally built in 1879, from sandstone taken from a local quarry. Stone was an unusual choice to build a school back then in Larimer County. Besides the unique stone design, the fact that the school was also a "one-room" schoolhouse, makes it historically significant.

There is also a small cabin next to the school. The school is part of the Noosa Yoghurt facility...so consider taking a formal tour of the dairy while you are there to see the school!
